Gym Code of Conduct

 

It is a requirement of your membership at XGym Rhodes Pty Limited (we, our or us) to comply with this code of conduct at all times. Our priority is the health of our staff and members. We will ensure that the correct procedures are followed at all times.

 

1  Our equipment

1.1 You are responsible for using our facilities and equipment correctly, including adjusting levels or settings. If you are not sure how to operate any equipment, please ask our staff before you
use it.
1.2 You will be responsible for any damage that you cause to our equipment or facilitates.
1.3 You must:

    • (a) use a sweat towel and disinfect all equipment between workouts;
    • (b) adhere to equipment time limits (if any);
    • (c) limit the use of phone while on gym equipment and never use your camera without the express permission of our staff;
    • (d) put all equipment away after you have used it; and
    • (e) keep to the set time limits (if any).

 

2  Wet areas

2.1 The gym may have wet areas, such as a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and shower facilities. Please take extra care in these areas as slipping may lead to injury, permanent disability or death. You use these areas at your own risk.
2.2 You must follow all signs, obey staff directions and never run in wet areas, or dive or jump into pools. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

 

3  Your belongings

3.1 We provide lockers for you to use while in the gym. These lockers are not monitored by CCTV and you will be responsible for your belongings at all times. We suggest that valuable items are left at home.
3.2 While we take reasonable steps to prevent it, thefts do happen. We do not accept any liability for the loss or damage to your belongings while you are at the gym, even if someone breaks into your locker. If you leave belongings in a locker overnight, we may remove them.
3.3 You must keep you access card with you at all times. You are solely responsible for keeping track of, and securing, your access card.

 

4  Suitable clothes

All members must wear suitable clothes, including enclosed sports shoes, in the gym. If you are wearing clothing which we deem unsuitable or inappropriate, you may be asked to change clothes or leave the gym.

 

5  Breaches

5.1 We reserve the right to refuse entry to any person, including members, at any time.
5.2 Occasionally, we will warn you that certain conduct is putting you at risk of having your membership cancelled. If you continue to conduct yourself in the same way, we may cancel your membership immediately.
5.3 We may cancel your membership without warning if you:

    • (a) threatening or harassing others;
    • (b) damaging our equipment;
    • (c) use illegal or performance-enhancing drugs or are under the influence of alcohol;
    • (d) are instructing other members when we have not authorised you to do so;
    • (e) otherwise breaching our terms and conditions; or
    • (f) conduct any forms of coaching or personal training without our prior written authorisation.

 

6  Parking

We do not operate the car parks which are outside the gym. The commercial property owner will have their own terms and conditions which you should familiarise yourself with before you park.

 

7  Guests

7.1 During staffed hours, may allow you to bring in a guest. There may be a fee payable for doing so, and the guest may be asked to agree to our full terms before being allowed. Entry by the guest is entirely at our staff’s discretion.
7.2 All children in the club must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
7.3 People under 14 years of age cannot enter the gym floor area.
7.4 Your guests must:

    • (a) be at least 16 years old;
    • (b) be accompanied by you at all times, including leaving when you do;
    • (c) sign the guest register and allow us to take a copy of their ID;
    • (d) complete the health declaration and waiver; and
    • (e) abide by all of our terms, conditions and policies.

 

8  Group class code of conduct

8.1 Members may manage their class bookings via our app or our member portal. Our reception or gym staff cannot help you with your bookings. 

8.2 You can book 2 classes per day.

8.3 All group exercises classes have limited spaces available.  These must be booked in 7 days advance and will be booked on a first come first served basis.

8.4 If you cannot make a class, you must cancel your booking at least 6 hours prior to the start of the class.

8.5 You can change or cancel an existing booking up to 6 hours prior to the start of a class without penalty.  You cannot change or cancel an existing booking within 6 hours prior to the start of a class, and you will receive one strike against your membership. 

8.6 If you receive 3 strikes against your membership within 30 days, you will not be able to book any classes for 7 days following the third strike.

8.7 You must arrive at least 10 minutes before the class start time otherwise your spot may be given away to another member.

8.8 Classes may be cancelled by us at any time.  We will use reasonable efforts to let you know when this happens.
